Apple avoids advertising exact battery capacities for its iPhones, so we have to rely on other sources to get that information.
The same goes for the recently announced family iPhone 16but now we finally have the exact numbers from Brazilian regulator Anatel.
The iPhone 16, then, has a 3,561 mAh battery, a 6.3% increase over its predecessor. The iPhone 16 Plus has a 4,674mAh battery, a 6.6% increase. The iPhone 16 Pro has a 3,582mAh battery, a 9.4% increase from the iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 4,685mAh battery, a 5.5% increase from the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
When it comes to the increase compared to last year’s models, the winner is the iPhone 16 Pro. That’s not to say the other devices don’t have very good battery life. Thanks to the A18 and A18 Pro chips used and thermal improvements in the internal design, both the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max have significantly better battery life than their predecessors despite small increases in absolute battery capacity.
Additionally, all iPhone 16 models support the faster 25W MagSafe charging if you buy one of Apple’s new MagSafe chargers. You will also need to connect it to a 30W power supply. The new devices can also charge up to 45W via USB-C.
iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be available worldwide today.
