A new rumor states that the iPhone SE 4 may be released this month, if iOS 18.3 also becomes available. According to Apple expert Mark Gurman, that way of thinking is incorrect, and we will have to wait a little longer for the new cheapest iPhone.
The account AppleTrack claims, based on an anonymous source, that we can expect the iPhone SE 4 as early as this month. The thinking goes like this: the iPhone SE 4 will ship with iOS 18.3 pre-installed. The .3 update of iOS is often released in January, so it is assumed that the new iPhone SE will also be released this month.
Wait until March or April
‘Totally untrue’, responds Apple expert Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. He agrees that the iPhone SE 4 is indeed being developed to be released with iOS 18.3, but according to Gurman this mainly means that the latest cheap iPhone will be released before iOS 18.4 is released, and therefore not immediately when 18.3 is released.
iOS 18.4 is expected in April, so that’s more the schedule we have to take into account. According to Gurman, we can expect the iPhone SE 4 and new iPads by April at the latest. This is also more in line with previous expectations. Apple often holds a press presentation in March or April, so that time would make more sense to renew both the cheapest iPhone and iPad.
