Iran has ridiculed Russia. Putin furious with Tehran’s decision

Israel has done amazingly an effective retaliatory attack on Iran. As a result, the army lost virtually all Russian S-300 air defense systems. The authorities in Tehran received this sad news with great pain and on this basis, a controversial decision was made not to buy any more defense systems from Moscow.

The media quoted the deputy of the aerospace forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as saying. Remarkably, it’s not just about older S-300 systems, but also the newest S-400which Russia uses on a huge scale to defend its strategic facilities. Iranian authorities believe that these defensive weapons are completely ineffective against the latest Israeli missiles fired from American F-35 Lightning II fighters.

This is a huge blow to Vladimir Putin. After all, Iran is a great ally of Russia. A few weeks before Israel’s retaliatory attack on Iran, Moscow sent to Tehran as a form of friendship several sets of S-400 systems. Everything indicates that they too have failed. Therefore, the Iranian authorities decided to invest in the development of their own systems and equipment from, for example, China, which was created with the aim of neutralizing American weapons.

The war in Ukraine itself has shown how the most modern Russian S-400 air defense systems are not as effective as the Russians advertise them. It turns out that the Kremlin army itself has proven that it is very easy to destroy them with American HIMARS systems. Israel destroyed virtually all of Iran’s defense systems

Russian operators located the targets and missiles were fired to neutralize them. The S-400 Triumf system is designed to deal with enemy aircraft, cruise missiles and missiles ballistic missiles with a range of up to 3,500 kilometers. Meanwhile, you can see that at least one missile from the GMLRS hit location of S-400 defense systems and caused damage there, so it is not as reliable and effective anti-aircraft weapon as the Kremlin presents it.

Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, our neighbors have destroyed at least 211 Russian air defense systems. It is estimated that among them there is: several S-300 and S-400 systems. These defensive weapons, fully equipped with launchers and radars, could cost up to a billion dollars.

Iran does not want Russian S-300 and S-400 systems

The Russian army currently may have 10 regiments equipped with this weapon. An attribute of the S-400 Triumf system is its long range. In the case of the S-300, it is 100 kilometers, and the S-400 missiles can destroy targets within a radius of up to 250 kilometers. This offensive-defensive weapon was developed by the Almaz-Antey Central Design Bureau and implemented into the Russian army in 2007.

The S-400 can use four new types of missiles, i.e. 48N6E3 (rockets long range 240 kilometers), 40N6 (long-range missile of 400 kilometers to counter AWACS, JSTARS control and early warning aircraft), 9M96E and 9M96E2 (single-stage missiles with a range of 40 and 120 kilometers, respectively) and missiles used by the previous S-300PMU2 Faworit system (48N6E, 48N6E2) . Importantly, the S-400 system can be armed with a set of various missiles, which significantly increases the possibility of adapting it to the threat.
