IRONMAN 70.3: Event announcement and information on changes to traffic regimes and public transport lines! (VIDEO) – Other sports

1,000 top competitors from 60 countries will gather.

The epicenter of the race is on Ada Ciganlija. Participants of the first mts IRONMAN 70.3 Belgrade competitions in Serbia, start the race at 7 a.m. with a 1.9 km swim in the Sava Lake, then continue the race on bicycles, on a 90 km long track and finally a 21 km long run next to Belgrade on the water awaits them.

mts IRONMAN 70.3 Belgrade race is one of the fastest races in the calendar for 2024, it will gather 1,000 top competitors from 60 countries of the world.

In addition to this competition being the Serbian triathlon championship, the mts IRONMAN 70.3 Belgrade race has a qualifying character for the IRONMAN World Championship in Marbella, which makes the Serbian capital as the host particularly significant.

The first “man of steel” is expected to cross the finish line around 10:34 a.m., while the last expected competitor is around 2:30 p.m. The ceremony of announcing the winner of the national championship is at 1 p.m., at Ada Ciganlija (parking lot, Makiška side). The IRONMAN announcements of winners by age groups and the allocation of slots for the World Championship in Marbella are planned for 17:00.

In order to preserve the safety of all participants and citizens during the mts IRONMAN 70.3 Belgrade race, there will be temporary traffic changes on the streets and sections where the race is held.

Changes to the traffic regime and public transport lines are planned according to the following plan:

· from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on bicycle and pedestrian roads: pedestrian and bicycle path on New Bridge from Jurij Gagarin to Radnička Street; along the Sava embankment downstream from Ada Ciganlija to the monument to Advard Rusjan (Concrete Hall) and the entrance intersection of Ada Ciganlija, and

· from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. change of public transport lines – no passing through Radnička Street in both directions.

· from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on covered roads for private and freight traffic.

The list of vehicles included in the changes:

· Road M26 (Savska magistrala) from the intersection with Savska street (Umka) to Bora Stankovića street (Železnik), both directions for the needs of the race;

· Sava highway, from Bora Stankovića street to Radnička street, both directions for the needs of the race;

· Radnička Street from the Savska highway to the Ada Bridge, both directions;

· The exit road from Radnička street, through the roundabout exit towards New Belgrade, direction towards New Belgrade;

· Ada bridge with access roads from Vojvoda Mišić Boulevard to Heroji sa Košar Boulevard, the entire width of the direction;

· Bulevar Heroes from Košar to Bulevar Crvene Armija, both directions;

· Crvene Armije Boulevard from Heroji Boulevard from Košar to Đorđa Stanojevića Street, both directions;

· Đorđe Stanojevića Street from Crvena Armija Boulevard to Milutin Milankovića Boulevard, both directions;

· Milutin Milankovića Boulevard, from Đorđe Stanojevića Street to Milentija Popovića Street, both directions;

· Bridge on Ada with access roads from Bulevar Heroji from Košar to Radnička Street, the entire width of the direction;

· Walking and cycling path from Ada Ciganlija to Edvard Rusjan Park;

· Pedestrian and bicycle path on the Most na Ada from Jurija Gagarina Street to Radnička Street.

At 12:30 p.m., the roads are planned to open in regular mode for private vehicles and freight traffic, except for the entrance to Ada Ciganlija, while the entrance to Ada Ciganlija is planned to open at 2:30 p.m., as well as the establishment of regular public transport routes and the opening of bicycle paths.
