Domestic. A 22-year-old man has now been charged with several serious terrorist crimes with links to the Muslim organization Islamic State (IS). The arrest took place at Arlanda Airport in June last year.
The suspect, who is registered in Kalmar county, was arrested when he tried to leave the country and has since been detained.
He is charged with serious financing of terrorism, participation in a terrorist organization and three counts of travel for terrorism. The crimes must have been committed between October 2022 and June 2024.
Chief prosecutor Per Lindqvist at the National Security Unit comments on the prosecution in a press release:
– We are now putting solid investigative work from the Security Police’s side behind us and look forward to the court’s examination of the indictment.
