Artificial intelligence of the company Google, Geminiis already part of several Google services, but is still not a default assistant on Android. But now it’s getting a big update that brings it expansion Gemini Utilities Extension. According to the portal PhoneArena this will make her less dependent on Google Assistant.
What is the new extension good for?
Expansion Gemini Utilities Extension is designed to simplify a wide range of tasks on an Android device. But most importantly, it allows users to control their Android mobile devices and apps through voice or text prompts.
They can open apps, control media playback, or adjust device settings such as volume and brightness. Thanks to the extension for them, Gemini can also take photos with the smartphone camera or screenshots. He can even perform multiple such actions with just using one challenge from the user.
Thanks to this, the user can, for example, request in one command to increase the volume of the media, decrease the volume of notifications and activate the battery saving mode at the same time. Needless to say, it’s a lot saves time. The extension will also enable comprehensive control over the application Hoursso you can set alarms or timers with your voice.
So far only in English
App integration is also included Pixel Screenshots. You can ask Gemini to search it for specific screenshots. Just long press the power button and ask Gemini, for example, to find the brand of clothing you’ve saved in your screenshots, and Gemini will show it to you.

Gemini Utilities Extension will be released in waves and may not be immediately available to everyone. The downside is that it currently only supports challenges in in English. It can be assumed that other languages will be added over time. However, the extension is certainly suitable for the interim period until artificial intelligence fully replaces Android Google Assistant.
