Today is Programmer’s Day! The date was chosen based on “mathematics” and the idea is to remember the work, importance and contributions of programmers to this modern world. Do you have any idea why this day was chosen to celebrate Programmer’s Day?
First programmer was a woman...
A programmer is a professional who writes code to create software for computers and mobile devices, websites, and systems. This code can be written in a variety of programming languages (such as Python, Java, C++, among others) and instructs systems to perform specific tasks.
Nowadays, with artificial intelligence, it is possible to have "extra help" for code development and analysis.
Programmer's Day is celebrated on the 256th day of each year, the largest power of base 2 that is smaller than 365, represented by 8 bits, which falls exactly on September 13th, exceptionally in leap years, which is celebrated on September 12th (as is the case this year)... But the most rigorous may even immediately think: "256 with 8 bits?... impossible, it's an obvious overflow!"
This day was made official in Russia in 2009, but it is celebrated in many parts of the world.
The first programmer (or rather, the first female programmer) in history is widely known as Ada Lovelace, a 19th-century English mathematician and writer. Ada Lovelace wrote the first algorithm intended to be processed by a machine, Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine, one of the first designs for a mechanical computer.
Ada Lovelace developed an algorithm that could be used to calculate Bernoulli numbers using Babbage's machine. This work is considered the first example of computer programming, although the machine for which the algorithm was designed was never fully built.
