Ischia adopts Citroen electric vehicles for a sustainable future

The Municipality of Ischia has launched an initiative to protect its natural and marine heritage, focusing on environmental protection and landscape beauty. In this context, Citroen has launched the project “Citroen Drive Ischia Electric”, with the aim of promoting a culture of environmental respect and sustainability through the use of electric vehicles.

The Double Chevron company has made available to the island a fleet of Citroen electric vehicles: four Citroen Ami and one Citroen e-C4green cars known for their efficiency and practicality. These vehicles will be used by local institutions, such as Civil Protection and the Municipal Police, for daily and representative activities, offering silent and CO2-emission-free travel.

The mayor of Ischia, Vincenzo Ferrandinosaid that this initiative demonstrates the administration’s commitment to the environment, underlining the importance of adopting sustainable mobility solutions. The use of Citroen electric vehicles is a significant step towards reducing environmental impact and promoting an eco-friendly culture on the island.

John FalconeManaging Director of Citroen Italy, expressed the brand’s desire to expand the range of low-emission vehicles, with the aim of electrifying 100% of Citroën models. This strategy is part of a broader sustainability plan, aimed at reducing the carbon footprint and promoting the adoption of electric vehicles.

A significant example of this philosophy is the new Citroen ë-C3, which represents a pillar of sustainable mobility proposed by the French manufacturer. In the first half of the year, the ë-C3 recorded over 2,000 orders in Italy, with even more in France, highlighting a growing interest in electric vehicles.

The formula “Citroen Social Electric” makes access to the new ë-C3 particularly convenient, with a monthly fee starting from 49 euros. Among the main features of the model, the ability to recharge from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes stands out, with a range of 440 kilometers in the urban cycle and 320 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.

The “Citroen Drive Ischia Electric” project not only supports Citroen’s energy transition, but also contributes to protecting the cultural and naturalistic heritage of Ischia. Thanks to this initiative, the island is moving towards a greener and more environmentally friendly mobility, demonstrating how innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand for the well-being of the community and the territory.

The commitment of Ischia and Citroen It is a virtuous example of how local governments and companies can collaborate for a sustainable future, enhancing natural and cultural heritage through innovative and ecological mobility solutions.
