- The 56-year-old reveals it: he is very happy with his partner Cindy, they have been together for 6 years
- No regrets about not having had a child: “It’s enough for me to be an uncle”
Raz Degan has returned to acting and thus debuts in “One step from heaven 8”the popular Rai1 drama. TO TV Smiles and Songs talks about his character, very similar to him, and he also explains why he decided to live in a trullo in Puglia together with his partner Cindy StuartItalian American. The two have been together for six years.
Idealist, lover of life in harmony, reserved, profoundly free, Raz confides: “I don’t watch TV, I don’t even own one”. The 56-year-old former Israeli model is allergic to worldliness, to the world of lies, to appearances. On the decision to live in a trullo he explains: “It’s the same question that Ermanno Olmi asked me when we were shooting ‘Centochiodi’. After 20 years of living around hotels, I needed a refuge, a place of my own. And I chose an isolated location, where I could get my hands dirty with the earth, walk barefoot, be in the midst of nature with my animals, cultivate the vegetable garden and olive trees. Like I did on the kibbutz (the typical agricultural communities of Israel, ed.) where I grew up.”
When asked if he ever wanted a child, Raz replies: “No, no regrets. If I wanted a child I would have had oneand I would probably also be a grandfather today. Instead it’s enough for me to be an uncle. Plus my partner already has a child and we’re fine like that.” About his Cindy he says: “We know each other deeply. In a relationship there is always a third person, which is the relationship, and it must be nurtured”. She shares the same passion for travel, even more adventurous: “Absolutely yes. He follows me 95 percent of the time, but he also knows when to let me go. And it’s rare to find a woman who accepts the fact that you’re married to travel and the unexpected.”
