Israel attacks again centrally in Beirut after killing of spokesman

At least four people have been killed and 18 wounded in an Israeli attack on central Beirut.

This was announced by Lebanon’s Ministry of Health on Monday.

Since Israel launched a major offensive against the militant Hezbollah movement in late September, the majority of Israeli attacks on the capital have targeted the places in Beirut’s southern suburbs where Hezbollah is strongest.

But Monday is the second day in a row that Israel hits targets inside Beirut.

Smoke can thus be seen rising into the air in the Zuqaq al-Blat area, which is close to the area in central Beirut where the Lebanese government has its headquarters.

Hezbollah has confirmed that Mohammed Afif, who was a spokesman for the movement, was killed on Sunday.

A total of ten people were killed in two separate attacks on Sunday.
