Israeli troops (IDF) conducted operations in the Litani River region of Lebanon, the army announced on Tuesday, marking the first time in nearly two decades (18 years) that IDF soldiers have arrived in the area.
Acting on intelligence information, the troops raided numerous Hezbollah infrastructures that had been built in the area. The soldiers also reportedly waged a firefight and destroyed dozens of launchers and thousands of rockets and missiles belonging to the Shiite group.
The military added that troops destroyed weapons storage facilities hidden inside the mountainside.
