Israel killed Hezbollah’s press chief in an airstrike

An Israeli airstrike killed the head of media relations of the Lebanese militia Hezbollah in Beirut on Sunday, reports MTI.

According to local security sources, an Israeli strike hit a building in a densely populated neighborhood of the Lebanese capital, killing Mohamed Afif. Israel did not immediately respond to the report. The blow hit the Ras al-Nabaa district, where many people fled from the southern corners of the Lebanese capital from the Israeli bombardment.

Afif was the media advisor to the late Secretary General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, who was also killed in an Israeli airstrike. For a long time, he led Hezbollah’s al-Manár television, and then took over the management of the press office of the Shia organization, which enjoys Iran’s tailwind. After Nasrallah’s death in September, Afif came to the fore, holding several press conferences for journalists in Beirut. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, three more people were injured in the said airstrike on Sunday.
