Israel reports several shooting incidents and dead Lebanese after the start of the ceasefire – World – News

Since the early morning of the cease-fire with the Hezbollah militant movement, Israel has reported several incidents with civilians and also with members of the aforementioned movement from the south of Lebanon, when several people died after shooting. This was reported by The Times of Israel portal. The Israeli army also reported that none of its troops had yet withdrawn from southern Lebanon. They have 60 days to leave, as stated in the accepted ceasefire agreement.

The Israeli military said both the warning and live fire incidents were related to attempts by the Lebanese and Hezbollah to enter Lebanese border villages and areas still controlled by Israeli troops. Several people were killed and others were injured. Four members of Hezbollah were detained by the army.

Israel said it expected such incidents to recur during the gradual withdrawal and handover of control to the Lebanese army. The Israeli armed forces do not rule out that the enforcement of the ceasefire may also lead to several days of fighting with Hezbollah.

The army also warned that it will continue to prevent the arming of Hezbollah, not only in the south of Lebanon, but throughout the country and also in Syria, for example. If Hezbollah tries to return to southern Lebanon, Israel is ready to intervene. He claims that if he did not do so, there would be a threat of war again within a few years.

The ceasefire agreement envisages the withdrawal of Hezbollah and Israeli soldiers from southern Lebanon between the Lítani River and the border with Israel. 10,000 Lebanese soldiers will take control of the area, which will complement the existing UN peacekeeping troops from the UNIFIL mission.
