Israel resumes negotiations to free Hamas hostages

The minister informed him Liri Albag parents of the hostage – about whom Hamas broadcast a video on Saturday – that efforts are underway to free the hostages, among other things, an Israeli delegation traveled to Qatar yesterday (Friday) to negotiate.

According to the announcement Benjamin Netanjahu the Israeli Prime Minister gave precise instructions regarding the conduct of the negotiations.

Hamas announced on Friday that negotiations on a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip will resume in Doha.

He added that the negotiations will be on the complete cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hamas and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip.

Benjamin Netanyahu also spoke to the parents of Liri Albag, a 19-year-old woman serving in the military at the Nahal Oz base in southern Israel at the time of her abduction, and promised the family that Israel would continue to do everything for the return of Liri and all the hostages.

Despite intensive diplomatic efforts under the auspices of Qatar, Egypt and the United States, no ceasefire has been agreed upon, with the exception of a one-week truce at the end of November 2023.

On the latter occasion, hostages were exchanged for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons.
