Israel: ‘When we hit Iran the world will understand your strength’, Defense Minister told pilots

Barrages of rockets are fired at Israel from Lebanon, while its Armed Forces pound Tyre, as the country’s Defense Minister tells Air Force pilots that when they strike Iran, “the world will know what training you have received.”

Israel shoots down drones from Iraq, Lebanon and the US secretary of state calls for a deal to end the war and “return the hostages home.

A barrage of about 20 rockets from Lebanon was fired into the Haifa area today. Another 10 rockets were fired at Kiryat Shmona shortly after.
Two rockets fired from Lebanon at the Beit She’an area in northern Israel were successfully intercepted by air defenses, the IDF says. Sirens sounded in several communities in the area amid the attack.

However, one man was seriously injured by a Hezbollah rocket fragment in Nahariya district. It is unclear whether the fragment came from impact or fell after being intercepted. The doctors said that the injured person’s condition worsened in the last few hours.

The IDF says about 25 rockets were fired during the attack, most of which were intercepted. Hezbollah claims it fired rockets at a military base in the Haifa region of northern Israel in response to Israeli raids in Lebanon.

The Iran-backed group said it targeted a military industrial base around Haifa “in defense of Lebanon and its people”.
The IDF has been attacking several Hezbollah command centers in southern Lebanon’s Tire since the morning following evacuation warnings. After the warnings were issued the IDF says it carried out strikes against several Hezbollah command posts in Tire in southern Lebanon.

Another drone launched from Lebanon was shot down by air defenses a short time ago, the IDF says. According to the military, the drone did not enter Israeli airspace.

This is the fifth unmanned aircraft intercepted this morning by the Israeli Air Force. Alongside the announcement, the IDF released footage of the interception of an Iraqi drone near Eilat this morning.

Speaking to pilots and aircrew at Hatzerim Air Base, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant says that “after we hit Iran, everyone will understand what you did in the preparation and training process.”

“All those who dreamed a year ago of defeating us and attacking us have paid a heavy price and no longer have that dream,” he adds.
Israel has said it will respond to Iran’s October 1 ballistic missile attack.

In a post on X, Gallant added: “In my conversation with them I emphasized – once we attack Iran, everyone will understand your strength, preparation and training process – any enemy that tries to harm the state of Israel will pay a heavy price ».

The Middle East is on hot coals, Reuters comments, in anticipation of Israeli retaliation for Iran’s attack, during which approximately 200 ballistic missiles were launched against Israel.

Washington seeks to prevent further escalation of the conflict. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on Wednesday that Israel’s retaliation should not lead to further escalation.

In recent weeks Israel has stepped up its offensive against Palestinian militants Hamas in Gaza and Iran-backed ally Hezbollah in Lebanon.
