Isuzu Indonesia Technician Wins 1st Place in I-1 Grand Prix 2024

DAPURPACUID – A skills contest among Isuzu mechanics in the world, I-1 Grand Prix World Technical Competition 2024, was successfully won by representatives from Indonesia.

It is Muh. Sya’ban Ghofar from PT Astra International – Isuzu Sales Operation (Astra Isuzu) and Priyono PT Asco Dwimobilindo (Asco Isuzu), who won 1st place in the competition.

Both are supported directly by Yuda Arikunto as Coach from PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI). Thanks to his persistence in guiding, two Isuzu Indonesia representatives were able to defeat 35 teams from 35 countries.

This achievement is proof of the skill, dedication, expertise and quality of Isuzu Indonesia’s mechanics remaining at the top of the automotive industry on a global scale.

President Director of PT IAMI, Yusak Kristian said, this achievement is proof that Isuzu Indonesia continues to be committed to providing the best after-sales service to all customers.

“Of course, Isuzu Indonesia’s after-sales service is supported by mechanics who are reliable, qualified, recognized by the world and focused on customer needs on the journey to success,” he added.

On the other hand, Yuda appreciated the Learning Center and Transformation (LCT) team, IAMI management, Astra Isuzu and Asco Isuzu for their support to the team starting from the selection process, quarantine, to competitions.

“I hope this achievement can be a motivation for Isuzu technicians in Indonesia to continue to improve their competence in order to help realize Isuzu’s vision and mission in Indonesia,” he concluded.

The I-1 Grand Prix competition is a prestigious international event held by Isuzu Motors Limited Japan every year, to measure the skills of every Isuzu technician.

This competition aims to improve the individual and team technical abilities of each Isuzu Group mechanic throughout the world and provide high appreciation, especially to the best mechanics, through this event.

This competition includes two categories, namely Technical Knowledge, which is carried out by testing the knowledge required for automotive engineering and maintenance.

Then the Practical Competition is carried out through Virtual Failure Diagnosis (VFD), which tests technical knowledge and diagnostic skills, and will be evaluated in virtual reality.

No less interesting are practical exams to carry out component inspections (mechanical and electrical systems) and repair, inspect, diagnose and repair vehicles. (dpid/TH)
