It is practically certain that Apple will not have its own electric vehicle –

It could hardly be more clear than that.

A little more than half a year after Mark Gurman a Bloombergnél reported that Apple has abandoned the launch of its electric vehicle, the California Department of Transportation (DMV) has officially revoked Apple’s autonomous vehicle testing permit. THE macReports according to reports, on September 25th, Apple confirmed the cancellation of the license, which took effect on September 27th, putting an end to Apple’s decade-long electric vehicle project.

This permit allowed Apple to test a self-driving vehicle with a safety driver on public roads in California. Apple received the license in 2017, which would have been valid until April 30, 2025, had it not been revoked.

During the tests, Apple used rented Lexus SUVs equipped with various sensors and cameras to test autonomous driving technologies on the streets of California. The cancellation of the license comes as no surprise, given previous reports that Apple has gradually put its ambitious electric vehicle plans on the backburner.

This move makes it clear that Apple has not only halted the development of planned electric vehicles, but also terminated its existing autonomous vehicle testing project.
