The MAE informs Romanian citizens who are in, transiting or want to travel to Portugal that the Portuguese authorities have issued an adverse weather alert – orange code of short-term heavy precipitation, with hail, accompanied by storms and electrical discharges, for the period 15 – November 17, 2024, in the Madeira Archipelago and the southern area of ​​Mainland Portugal (Alentejo and Algarve).

The MAE recommends consulting the web page of the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) https://www.ipma.pt/pt/otempo/prev.significativa/ and the National Authority for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection (ANEPC – Autoridade Nacional de Emergência e Proteção Civil) https://prociv.gov.pt/pt/home/ to get updated information in real time.
