Former tennis player Omar Camporese analyses Sinner’s Wimbledon tournament, also launching into a comparison with Alcaraz, who in his opinion is superior in certain aspects

On the occasion of the defeat with Medvedev in the quarter-finals, Sinner he had to face a difficult moment with strong dizziness, which certainly compromised his level for some moments of the match, which was however deservedly won by the Russian, also second Camporese: “Medvedev played a flawless match, he changed his game, getting closer to half a meter from the linewhen he usually positions himself 3-4 meters further back. He deserved the success, even if the problems Sinner had helped him. Then it can happen that Jannik loses a match, he has won so many… It doesn’t happen often but it also happens that even the strong ones come out defeated, even though he is used to it too well”.
The extra quality of Alcaraz compared to Sinner
Camporese then made a comparison between Sinner and Alcarazthe two current dominators of tennis, highlighting how in his opinion the Spaniard is slightly superior and, above all, possesses a fundamental quality to get out of some complicated situations: “I still see Carlitos slightly superior. From a technical and physical point of view the Spaniard is ahead, but mentally Jannik has something moreI don’t know how decisive Jannik’s problem against Medvedev was, but when you find yourself in a situation where you can’t win by doing the things you did before, you have to find a plan B. I saw him white in the face both with Berrettini and in the quarterfinals with Medvedev and I wondered what had happened.. It didn’t seem to me like the usual Sinner who looks at his corner, motivates himself, makes a fist and all the rest. QWhen I see Alcaraz play I notice that in difficult moments something always changes, a detail that Sinner still lacks. Carlos has more variety”.
