Italian footballer Comore Curto has been banned for 10 matches due to racist behavior

The number of racist behavior in the world of football is increasing day by day. Fifa can’t keep footballers away from racist behavior despite strict peace. Footballers are involved in racist behavior one after another. Fifa banned Marco Curto of Serie A newcomer Como for 10 matches for racially abusing Wolverhampton forward Hwang Hee-chan in a pre-season training match.

At the same time, the 25-year-old Italian footballer has been ordered to do social service work, train in a FIFA-approved organization and participate in educational activities.

However, not all of these restrictions are in effect right now. The five-match ban will still be in effect. The remaining five are suspended sanctions. If he commits a similar offense again within the next two years, the punishment will be enforced.

The incident happened during the Como-Wolverhampton match in Marbella last July. Comore Kurto said something to Wolverhampton’s Hwang in the second half of the match. Based on that source, the players of the two teams got involved in the conflict on the field. Meanwhile, Wolves winger Daniel Prodence was shown a red card for punching a Como player.

After this match, the English club complained to the Italian Football Federation and UEFA. However, UEFA refused to take action claiming that the match was not recognized. It was then that the Korean Football Association came forward and lodged a complaint with FIFA.

FIFA announced the punishment after an investigation into the incident. A Fifa spokesman said there was evidence of discrimination against Kurto. However, after the incident, Kurto’s club Como said in a statement that Hwang was called ‘Jackie Chan’ by Kurto. Wolverhampton’s players nicknamed Hwang ‘Chaney’ – after hearing that he called him by that name. According to Como’s claim, Kurto did not say anything insulting to the Wolves’ Korean star. The Italian club also expressed disappointment that the incident of this Italian star was made ’tilke tal’.

But FIFA’s investigation found Kurto’s involvement. As a result, the announcement of this punishment. Wolverhampton welcomed FIFA’s announcement.

However, Kurto is not playing for Como at the moment. This season, Curto is playing on loan at another Italian club, Cesena.
