Italian Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso said, “Baykar may join forces with the Italian defense giant Leonardo after its acquisition of Piaggio Aerospace.” he said.

Italian Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Adolfo Ursomade an evaluation regarding the acquisition of the Italian aviation company Piaggio Aerospace by Baykar, upon a question posed to him in the Senate.

Stating that the agreement with Baykar contributed to determining the outlines of technological and industrial cooperation between Turkey and Italy, Urso said, “Baykar can join forces with the Italian defense giant Leonardo after its acquisition of Piaggio Aerospace.”

“POWERFUL COMPANIES SHOULD FORM MORE ALLIANCES”

Urso added that strong companies such as Leonardo should establish more alliances in order to strengthen the aviation sector in Italy and their leadership in the European Union (EU).

Baykar, ItalyIt was announced last month that it had acquired Piaggio Aerospace, a well-established aviation company founded in 1884.

Italian aerospace and defense giant Leonardo is the 13th largest defense company in the world and the 2nd largest defense company in Europe, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.
