The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, draws attention to the increase in the number of measles cases. According to him, the population is not aware of the seriousness of the situation, and vaccination coverage has decreased a lot in Romania.

The Minister of Health has sounded the alarm and claims that, unfortunately, the measles epidemic continues to wreak havoc. In recent months, nearly 20 people have died from measles.

“We have been in the epidemic for a long time. There are populations of children who have not been vaccinated, vaccination coverage has dropped a lot in Romania, and there were counties that were affected: initially there were Mureş County, Braşov County, Arad County.

Unfortunately, we have almost 20 deaths recorded in these months”, said Rafila la Antenna 3 CNN.

The main symptoms of the disease

Measles, also known as measles, is one of the childhood diseases. This is caused by infection with a virus and can be fatal for very young children. Immunization by vaccination has decreased the death rate from measles. There is no antiviral treatment to cure measles, the disease goes away on its own.
