It’s good that Robert Fico is back from his luxury vacation in Vietnam so he can face his own mistakes

It is good that Slovak Prime Minister Fico has finally returned from his vacation in a luxury hotel in Vietnam and is now in Bratislava. It may be a challenge for him to switch from a luxurious life to trying to correct his own mistakes – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy pointed out to the Slovak Prime Minister on X.

As our paper also reported, Dennik N previously found out that Robert Fico was messaging his followers from a luxury hotel in Vietnam, while they didn’t even know where he was for a long time.

According to the Ukrainian president, Robert Fico probably thinks he can continue his dark cooperation with Moscow indefinitely. He recalled that Ukraine had previously offered Slovakia its help in getting rid of Russian gas, but according to his claim, the Slovak Prime Minister refused this in an arrogant tone, even though many in Europe warned that doing nothing and waiting is not an option. According to the Slovak Prime Minister Volodymyr Zelenskiy, he is now lying and making accusations, just so that he can shift the blame to someone else.

The background to the case is that Kiev stopped natural gas transport from Russia to Europe on the first day of the year, citing its unwillingness to finance Vladimir Putin’s war, to which Slovakia threatened to retaliate against Ukraine due to the economic effects of the decision. He listed several options, such as Bratislava stopping all humanitarian aid to Kyiv, reducing or withdrawing aid to Ukrainian refugees in Slovakia, cutting off electricity supplies to Ukraine or vetoing EU decisions. Robert Fico called Ukraine an unreliable partner and accused Volodymyr Zelensky of blackmailing European leaders in exchange for support. “He travels Europe, begs and blackmails others, asks for money,” he declared about the Ukrainian president.

Volodymyr Zelenskiy has now stated that the real problem is simply that Robert Fico bet on Russia, not on his own country, not on Europe, and not on common sense. “We hope that further diversification of European energy supply sources, cooperation with the European Commission, and the implementation of President Donald Trump’s policy to increase the American gas supply to the continent will help address the challenges caused by the short-sightedness of individual European leaders,” wrote the Ukrainian president.
