The horror films To 1 and 2 belong to one of the most successful films of this genre. If clowns scare you and you like to be scared, these movies are a great choice. They are based on the book by Stephen King and both parts have a very dense atmosphere and well-written characters.
The main villain is Pennywise the Clown, an ancient creature that preys on children and occasionally adults. The goal of the child protagonists is to destroy this creature. The first part has an excellent rating of 74% on ČSFD, and the second part, which concludes the story, has a slightly weaker 61%.

The Pope’s Exorcist
This horror film is inspired by the real writings of the Vatican exorcist Gabriel Amorth, whose book brought exorcism to a wider public. The protagonist, Father Amorth, investigates a small boy possessed by the devil, but at the same time uncovers a centuries-old conspiracy that the Vatican is hiding.
Horror has elements of religious themes combined with a tense atmosphere, which makes this film an ideal candidate for a gloomy evening. The film has a slightly above-average 64% on the ČSFD.

Captive of demons
Captive of Demons is one of the greatest horror classics, inspired by true stories. The film follows the investigation of two paranormal specialists. In the first part, the story takes us to a remote American farm, where a powerful demon terrorizes its inhabitants, and the investigators try to exorcise it.
The second part, which follows on from the success of the first, takes place in a London house infested with ghosts. A mother with four children lives in the house, and our investigators are once again tasked with banishing all paranormal beings. Both films have excellent ratings at ČSFD – the first part 82% and the second 78%.

Quiet place
A Quiet Place combines several genres: horror, science fiction and drama. The film follows the story of a family in a post-apocalyptic world full of monsters responding to the slightest noise that have overwhelmed the Earth.
The family settled on a farm where they try to survive the apocalypse and which they adapted to live as quietly as possible, because even the slightest rustle could betray them and invite a deadly attack. Even so, he encounters evil creatures several times during the film. The film has a rating of 73% on ČSFD and generally very positive reviews.

A Nightmare on Elm Street
A remake of the 1984 classic, this film tells the story of five friends who live on the same street and have terrifying dreams about a man with a burnt face and a ghostly voice.
Each of them must play by the monster’s rules, and the only escape is awakening. However, when one of the friends dies, the others realize that they are in great danger. To end the nightmares, they must delve into the mind of the killer Freddy Krueger. The film received relatively strong criticism and has only 48% on the ČSFD.
