As Christmas approaches, anyone who wishes can once again take a trip to the state forest to bring their favorite Christmas tree for the holidays. You can find all the necessary information and the instructions for taking a suitable tree in the RMK app and from the website.
RMK has been offering the opportunity to choose your own Christmas tree from the state forest since 2008. It is also a good opportunity to take a nice forest trip with family or friends and explore winter forest life.
The principles of which tree to choose as a Christmas tree are the same as in previous years. Spruce is allowed to be taken from the state forest in those places where it has no hope of growing: from the edges of roads and ditches, under power lines and old forest.
From the RMK mobile application and website www.rmk.ee/kuuseke finds a helpful online map that positions the location of the tree finder and shows the nearest places where the Christmas tree can be cut down.
It is important to remember that spruce must not be taken from forest regeneration or protected areas. A young spruce can be recognized by the fact that the trees are regularly maintained and are mostly of the same height. Protected areas are marked in brown and demarcated on the national forest map, and are also mostly marked with signs in nature.
The month must be paid for before it is taken off, using a mobile or bank payment. An SMS proving the payment or confirmation of the payment order should be included in the forest. It is also possible to pay for a tree with a mobile phone until December 31
The price list is the same as in previous years. A Christmas tree up to one meter costs 3 euros, 1-2 meters 8 euros and 2-3 meters 13 euros. You can also buy taller fir trees, the prices of which are listed on the RMK website.
The visuals of this year’s announcement by RMK helped to create an artificial branch, through which the desire is to especially emphasize the specialness of a real, self-sought Christmas tree brought from the forest. The message of the campaign is a contrast to the cartoonish image language created by artificial intelligence – you can get a real spruce from the state forest.
The equivalent amount earned from the sale of the Christmas tree will be used by RMK to raise forest awareness among students. Last year, more than 8,300 Christmas trees were brought from the state forest.
This year too, RMK presents a Christmas tree brought from the state forest to foster homes and several social institutions.
