Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu sent a message to Romanians on Facebook on Monday evening, November 18, in the desire not to have his words misinterpreted. Ciolacu is very disturbed by the fact that his family is being attacked during the election campaign.
“When you don’t have projects and solutions for the country, the easiest thing is to attack with lies and dirt. This is what the election campaign turned into, a continuous attack on me and my family! And I can’t help but think how bad I’ve done my family, with all this continuous pressure placed on every member of the family!”, the prime minister wrote on the social network.
In the same direct message to the voters, Marcel Ciolacu claims that he has never committed any illegalities, let alone those imputed to him in the scandal of private plane trips paid for by Nordis.
“To be clear: I never did anything illegal! I gave my son a gift, paid for with my own money, with invoices and receipts to prove it. And I always paid for my vacations! Indeed, the who is asking for my withdrawal, Mr. Ciucă, gave 4 million euros from his own account! And he “forgot” to ask his protector, who – for 10 for years – he traveled unhindered and in secret on private planes, paid for by public money, on luxury vacations in exotic countries,” the prime minister also wrote in his message.
Finally, Ciolacu says that he is sure that Romanians will know how to discern what is true and what is not in all these scandals.
“I am sure that the Romanians want to know what will happen in the future, where this country is going and what solutions each candidate has to face the challenges – especially economic ones, which the whole of Europe is facing. And, therefore, I tell the Romanians that we have proven in this year and a half that we know what to do to develop the economy and increase Romanians’ incomes. We have shown that we have solutions, coming in front of everyone with a country program on all of Romania’s major development priorities that the Romanians will speak at the polls. Everyone understands!” concluded Marcel Ciolacu.
