James Cameron already hinted in the summer that he was developing something new related to Terminator. Now the father of the film series has commented more on the subject.
When Empire magazine asked James Cameron about the Terminator sequel, the director’s answer was:
“We have more than just a plan. We are working on it now. That’s all I have to say about it at the moment”.
So Cameron did not confirm a new Terminator movie yet, but if one does happen, there won’t be the same kind of wallowing in nostalgia that the previous movies offered.
“If you delve too deeply into Terminator, you will lose the audience, because the new audience is not as interested in the old stuff as you might think. That kind of danger is always there, obviously, and the same goes for Avatar. However, I believe we have proven that we have something for a new audience as well,” Cameron characterized and pointed out the similarities of the modern artificial intelligence trend to the Terminator movies.
