Japanese company develops ‘people washing machine’

A company in Osaka has created a futuristic device that combines relaxation and bodily cleanliness, called “Mirai Ningen Sentakuki”, writes TechCrunch.

The capsule-like device allows the user to sit in a chair, surrounded by water at the optimal temperature, automatically adjusted through sensors that monitor the user’s biological data, such as pulse.

Another innovative element of the device consists in the projection of images on the transparent cover, intended to induce a state of relaxation. In addition to bodily cleansing, the concept also aims at mental relaxation, described by the company as “mind washing”.

For now, the car is not available for sale. It will be presented to the public in April, during an exhibition organized in Osaka. Visitors will be able to try a 15-minute “wash and dry” session, with prior appointment.

The company is also considering a version intended for home use, but details about the release date or price have not yet been revealed.
