JBL Tour PRO 3

One of the world’s leading manufacturers of audio equipment is out with a set of new wireless headphones that are sure to excite the world’s music and podcast listeners. It is JBL who have just sent their Tour PRO 3 headphones on the market, and they are about new tones.

JBL has created a quite modern case for the small, discreet earphones. The fact that this small case also functions as a power bank is nothing significant. On the contrary, it is the small screen that automatically catches the eye when you unpack the headphones.

This is a redesigned Smart Charging Case, which comes with a 30% larger screen than its predecessor. The display gives you control over music playback, call handling, access to ID3 Tag, caller ID, media file information and more without having to take your phone out of your pocket. And yes, my slightly advanced age does not make it particularly easy to see the information on the modest screen – but smart! It certainly is. The fact that the screen is also touch-friendly makes it just a little more interesting.

Download JBLs app

I’d better start by pointing out that installing this nifty wireless set of headphones gave me a little trouble. Bluetooth pairing did not go as expected, and I conclude that it is because I had both my smartphone’s and computer’s Bluetooth connection switched on. In other words, I’m sure the JBL Tour PRO 3 was confused about who to connect with.

I turned off the computer and restarted my Pixel 6A smartphone. And it helped. Pretty quickly my Android phone was good friends with the headphones, and I was finally ready to put them in my ear canals to listen to music from Spotify.

I immediately found Honey Min with the band PATINA, and it immediately struck me that the sound in the neat JBL headphones is sitting right in the closet. However, I missed a bit of bass, so I downloaded JBL’s app. Here you can configure your headphones, and after just a few minutes I had set the sound to my preference. The app is also absolutely brilliant if you want to fine-tune your JBL headphones.

Excellent sound – both incoming and outgoing

Well, what can they do with the JBL Tour PRO 3? What makes them so special that they go and become quite attractive to audio enthusiasts? Yes, first of all, JBL has included artificial intelligence in the technology. This means that the headphones are able to transmit your voice clearly and distinctly, even if you are in a somewhat noisy environment. It can be, for example, in windy weather or a well-filled train compartment.

There are 2 speakers built into each earphone. And I am very pleased with the sound rushing through my ear canals. It’s no secret that I listen to quite a lot of music, and it’s mostly in the rockier genre, and so far these JBL headphones live up to my expectations. Bass, treble and midrange are harmonious, and you have to turn it up a lot before the sound becomes more shrill.

But back to the fixed case, which also functions as a power bank. When the entire molevit is charged, you have access to up to 11 hours of music/podcast via Bluetooth. If you are a talkative person, you can talk for up to 5.5 hours with these brilliant headphones in your ears.

Auracast – pretty clever

Before I finish these lines, I have to give a shout out to a newer technology called Auracast. Someone is predicting that Auracast will tip the teleloop off the stick, and Auracast might become the technology people adopt in the future when they have to individually connect to a source.

Black talk? Well, let me give you an example: you walk into the best sports bar in town, where there are 5 televisions all around the bar. Champions League football is shown on the screens and there are no less than 5 different matches going on. Being a true Real Madrid fan, you move over to one corner where Los Blancos are playing.

Now you insert your JBL Tour PRO 3 headphones, which via Auracast technology are able to connect you to the television that shows Real Madrid. If at some point you just need to find out about the other matches, you change the “channel” and jump on one of the other televisions.

A personal treat

As I finish this post, the American band Toto is playing in the background. Georgy Porgy is the name of the track. And I enjoy the sound. There is really eminently good atmosphere in the ear canals, and I am a fan of these JBL Tour PRO 3. The price is perhaps on the higher end – it is called a guide of DKK 2,499 – and it is quite a tidy sum. Conversely, you should consider a personal treat with these headphones from JBL. I don’t think you will regret the purchase.
