Comedian Jeon Yoo-seong (75) recently became a hot topic with his heartfelt officiating speech at his junior Jo Se-ho’s wedding.
On the 22nd, a video titled ‘The reason why the godfather of comedy, Jeon Yoo-seong, looked at rookie Kim Young-cheol (openly recruited comedian, comedy concert)’ was posted on Kim Young-cheol’s YouTube channel ‘Original’.
On this day, Kim Young-cheol headed to a cafe in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do, run by Jeon Yoo-seong.
Kim Young-cheol recalled that time, saying, “I trained after KBS’ open recruitment of comedians. I had a training session with seniors Kim Su-yong and Jeon Yoo-seong. I received both praise and criticism during class, and they took me to a bookstore.”
Jeon Yoo-seong said, “It’s been 10 years since I saw you,” and added, “When he debuted, he was really outstanding. He didn’t get discouraged. Jo Se-ho and this guy also didn’t get discouraged and talked back without hesitation. Kids who stand out like this are good at becoming stars.” didn’t
The two people looked back on the stars who entered the comedy world through their connection to Jeon Yoo-seong.
When Kim Young-cheol asked, “Did you choose Young-ja or recommend her?” Jeon Yoo-seong replied, “Lee Young-ja was recommended. She was a special recruit.” Comedians Shin Dong-yeop and Pyo In-bong also explained that they were special guests.
In response, Kim Young-cheol expressed surprise at Jeon Yoo-seong’s insight, saying, “They are all great seniors to me, but they were all selected by my senior.”
In particular, Jeon Yoo-seong recently attracted attention by serving as Jo Se-ho’s officiating address.
Regarding this, Jeon Yoo-seong said, “Jo Se-ho said something like that during the officiating ceremony. He told me to make a lot of money. I told him to make a lot of money and buy a building. But the problem is that the people who bought the building became building rental companies.”
He then made everyone laugh by saying, “It’s much easier than training seniors,” as to why he’s working hard to train juniors. He also added, “Even if I wanted to train seniors, there aren’t a few people left,” making Kim Young-cheol burst into laughter.
He said, “I dreamed of becoming an entertainer since I was young, not a rental business. So, when I bought a building, I told him to set up the ‘Jo Se-ho Theater’ on the first floor and train juniors.”
