DAPURPACUID – Towards the end of the year, Suzuki was awarded an award with the Jimny 5-door at the 2024 Car of the Year event, which was initiated by the Indonesian Automotive Journalists Forum.
This ‘legendary’ SUV won the award in the ‘Internal Combustion Engine’ vehicle category, and beat out four other finalists.
4W Marketing Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, Harold Donnell gave his appreciation to Forwot so that this fourth generation Jimny won the best car recognition in 2024.
“The judges gave an objective and fair assessment because the parameters used were quite complete and comprehensive. “This predicate can be an accurate recommendation for anyone when looking for a new car,” he said.
Harold admitted that winning this award meant a lot to Suzuki, especially for the Jimny 5-door. He also claimed that since it was introduced less than a year ago, this car has been able to steal attention.
Many people want this car because of its iconic appearance and toughness which has been tested by journalists and the owner community. “We want the Jimny 5-door to be increasingly loved and owned by various groups,” concluded Harold.
A total of 25 experienced journalists who are members of media organizations on this automotive channel carried out professional judging with a number of assessment aspects.
Important aspects of judging include design, comfort, safety, performance, handling, functionality, driving experience, and price. And the Jimny 5-door was able to outperform the assessment criteria applied.
All the judges have tested the capability and reliability of the Jimny 5-door both on off-road and on-road terrain, so that the award results are based on facts and accurate data.
One of the advantages it highlights is that its dimensions reach almost 4 meters in length and are able to accommodate up to 4 adult passengers, but are still comfortable.
Rear passenger legroom is also relatively spacious thanks to the longer wheelbase. The luggage space reaches 211 liters, providing practicality for carrying luggage.
With the technical capabilities of a 4×4 wheel drive car, the Jimny 5-door is equipped with a 1,500 cc engine which is channeled to the wheels via the Suzuki AllGrip Pro system.
This system can be adjusted based on the difficulty of the terrain or the needs of the rider. Also includes Hill Descent Control and Hill Hold Assist features.
