Support for education, sports or help for the disabled – these are the areas to which this year’s grant support from the program “We are creating a region with the soul of 2024“. Jaguar Land Rover Slovakia (hereinafter referred to as “JLR”) allocated €13,600 for this purpose in 2024, while 8 successful applicants were selected from 23 projects nominated by the car company’s employees themselves.
Thanks to the JLR grant, schoolchildren in Tvrdošovce will get a new movement-relaxation zone, children in Súlovce will have a more modern playground, and little gymnasts from Lapáš will get new exercise equipment. Visually impaired children and youth will have the opportunity to learn Braille on a special Picht machine, and Nitrian schoolchildren will expand their knowledge of robotics. The educational apiary under Zobor also received grant support.
The sixth year of the grant program was organized by the Nitra automobile company in cooperation with the Pontis Foundation, which has been dedicated to the support and development of communities for a long time. Civic associations, schools, municipalities, social facilities and sports clubs from the entire Nitra region applied for the grant.
Representatives of successful projects personally received their certificates directly at the JLR plant from the company’s executive director, Guillerma Mancholasaand the employees who nominated the projects. “I want to sincerely thank everyone who works to improve life in the Nitra region. I am very proud of our employees for their great interest in local communities and the inspiring projects they are involved in themselves.” said Guillermo Mancholas when presenting the certificates.
The JLR employee grant program, which the automaker launched in 2018 in cooperation with the Pontis Foundation, aims to improve the quality of life in the region where it operates, through financial or material support and employee volunteer work. In total, JLR has redistributed almost €85,000 since the start of the program to support small projects in the Nitra region. Financial contributions are made by the employees themselves through the allocation of 2% of their income tax within the Jaguar Land Rover Endowment Fund in the Pontis Foundation.

By building new elements of the public playground, a safe place for games and physical activities will be created.
