Joyn comedy “StiNos” starts quickly – surprise on free TV

After “Der Upir” and “KEKs”, the next Joyn comedy will be on air in just a few weeks. By the way, it’s also linear.

Streamer Joyn is really stepping up the pace when it comes to comedy series these weeks. After “Der Upir” and “KEKs”, “Die StiNos” will also be released on the streamer on Friday, November 15th. The “colorful feel-good comedy series” from SKP Entertainment GmbH stars Sebastian Bezzel (Eberhoferkrimis) and Johanna Christine Gehlen (“Am Abgrund”, “Soko Köln”). In the comedy series they play the married couple Robert and Beate, a “normal couple,” as a press release puts it.

“The StiNos” will soon make it onto free TV, although surprisingly not on ProSieben. “KEKs,” for example, started yesterday on ProSieben’s Comedy Wednesday. “The Upir” has been running there in the past few weeks. “The StiNos” will not – as might be obvious – be seen in the broadcast slot from December. Instead, the series will soon be broadcast on Sat.1. The private broadcaster announced that it would show the series at midnight from the night of December 6th to 7th (late Friday evening). “The StiNos” will run directly after the final moments of the current “The Voice of Germany” season.

Joyn relies on comedy

The “ordinary couple” really doesn’t have it easy in the series. The invitation to Beate’s best friend Paloma (Milena Dreissig) is apparently supposed to end in a foursome. Robert’s mother Hannelore (Dagmar Biener) finds a spot on the wall of her house that looks like Robert’s father – and Robert finally has someone he can talk to. And Beate’s sister Lisa (Sarah Bauerett) discovers a confused old man on the street – and wants to “keep” him. Is this all still normal?

When it comes to fiction, Joyn currently relies on two pillars. On the one hand these are comedy series, on the other hand they are dailies. It recently became known that “The Landarztpraxis” and “Die Spreewaldklinik” are key growth drivers for Joyn. “Family for All Cases” didn’t keep up – and will also lose its linear Sat.1 broadcast slot at the weekend. Meanwhile, RTL+ hardly relies on comedy when it comes to its own fiction. Soaps also play a role there, “GZSZ”, “Alles was counts” and “Berlin – Tag & Nacht” are regularly found in the best lists. Linear, RTL primarily invests in crime series; “Deadly Service Day” will continue in the new year.
