Joyride by Nike: a fun ride

Brand new suspension system Nike named
Joyridewhich, as you rightly guessed, is supposed to relieve the legs during long and demanding runs and take the joy of running to an even higher level.

Nike and their Joyride suspension system complements two key ones patenty Nike Air a Nike React. It offers better cushioning, more efficient impact shock absorption, great response and a smoother heel-to-toe transition – which is why this system is the first to appear in running shoes Nike Run Joyride Flyknit. These are designed for runners who need to keep their legs fresh during performance and regenerate better and faster after fast intervals or exhausting long runs.

How do I Joyride?

It is a new system that is made of thousands TPE ballswhich are stored in capsules and deployed to specific zones so that the foam can expand in all directions. This system creates a kind of dynamic cushion that adapts to the shape of your foot. Also the size of the capsules is adjustedbased on how the foot hits the ground during movement. E.g. the heel capsule is larger to absorb impact, while the forefoot capsules facilitate a smooth forward transition. Very simply: you’ll feel like you’re running on bubbles.

How did the Joyride system come about?

Joyride has repeatedly intensively tested one hundred and fifty different materials, from which a thermoplastic elastomer was chosen as ideal for the production of balls. The capsules in which the balls are stored prevent them from moving too much under the foot, which at the same time made it possible to create specific zones for different parts of the foot. The balls are stored in capsules so that they moved precisely in the given zones and responded to the needs of the individual phases of the step (e.g. if there were a total of eight thousand balls in a running shoe, 50% of them would cushion the impact under the heel and 5% would cushion the toe).
