Camif, the historic home equipment brand, has appointed Julien Chaverou as its president. Accompanied by the brand’s general manager, his mission will be to pursue the strategy focused on responsible consumption.
Home equipment retailer Camif has appointed Julien Chaverou as its new president, succeeding Emery Jacquillat. Upon taking up his post, he will be accompanied by Pierre Launay, the brand’s general manager for the past two years. This new duo aims to strengthen Camif’s strategy. Indeed, the mission-driven company wants to commit to serving responsible consumption and sustainable housing. Camif’s CEO explained: “While consolidating the work carried out for several years with Emery Jacquillat, and building on Camif’s strong and differentiating commitments, this new collaboration with Julien will also allow us to accelerate Camif’s development as an eco-responsible furniture publisher, with new horizons, particularly in physical retail.”
Julien Chaverou began his career at Zara’s parent company, the Inditex group. He then joined Auchan Retail in 2009. Eight years later, he took up the position of brand and style director at Alinea. Successively in product management and then in e-commerce, he was most recently in charge of the brand, marketing, CSR, concepts and product artistic direction.
In the press release announcing his appointment, the new president of the home equipment brand said that his goal was to continue the work of his forerunner, “who made Camif an eminently contemporary company, a company with a voluntary mission and convinced that we can change the world from within.”
Mission-driven company
As a reminder, Camif became a mission-driven company in 2020. The retailer wants to promote a model of responsible consumption and local production by offering products made in France for some, and entirely European for others. Thus, the brand works with 125 French manufacturers who generate 75% of its turnover. Certified B-Corp since 2015, the brand is part of this virtuous movement. Camif and Maif announced their merger in 2022, to continue the brand’s work on responsible consumption.
