Barely a week after Norbert Kiss secured his fourth European Championship title in a row and the sixth of his career, the Truck European Championships continued in Jarama, Spain, where the last race weekend of this season will be held.

And Kiss continued where he left off the previous weekend, in Le Mans: with the confidence he has become accustomed to this year, he finished in the lead in Saturday’s qualifying session with an advantage of more than a second – securing his 13th pole position of the year – and then the first grid easily converted it to victory in the first race of the afternoon.

It was not easy to map the track, because after Slovakia, Jarama is the other location, which is very tire-killing, its surface is rough. In addition, we were able to go with the new compound tires for the first time, so it was a bit unusual in free practice. We won the time trial with a big advantage, and the race went well, so I’m happy about another victory

– said Norbert Kiss after his 18th first place this year.

Title defense here or there, there is no stopping Norbert Kiss 2

In the early evening race with a partially reversed starting grid, the Hungarian rider of Révész Racing was able to start from the eighth position, and by the time the wave went off, he had managed to climb to third place – so he could celebrate on the podium for the second time during the day.

Another qualification on Sunday, followed by two more races is waiting to the field.
