Heart disease is one of the most pressing health problems of today. According to data from the General Health Insurance Company, only in the Czech Republic annually 3% of the population will die of a heart attack and up to 9,000 people go through it every year. At the same time, people often underestimate the initial symptoms – or do not get to the doctor in time for heart diseases due to long waiting times.
A cardiologist once thought about it Tomas Skala. He thought about how to monitor the human heart more easily, quickly and accurately. Currently, various devices are used for this, the most common of which is the so-called Holterbut their measurements may not be that accurate or not comfortable to wear. And so, over a glass of wine in the evening, he invented a device that would be small, easy to wear, and whose records would be instantly evaluated by artificial intelligence.
He met an American businessman Stephenem Burkem and founded a startup together AI. They created a tiny EKG sensor that they placed on a comfortable belt. You can wear it on your chest all the time, it doesn’t fall down, it doesn’t get in the way, and it doesn’t restrict you in any way. Patients can purchase it themselves and subscribe to the heart monitoring app. Any arrhythmia can be recorded with it, as well as other heart problems.
According to Kardi AI, this tiny EKG, which has all the necessary medical certifications, has already done so saving the lives of more than 215 people. Anyone can order it and it can then be picked up at more than 3,000 locations in the Czech Republic – within 2 days. It is of course linked to the mobile application. The data is stored in the cloud, and you can immediately see how your heart is doing – and whether it’s time to call for medical help.
