Karnaphuli Upazila BNP organized a rally and meeting on the occasion of reinstatement of Karnaphuli Upazila BNP convenor SM Mamun Mia, who was suspended on the charge of removing S Alam’s luxury car from a factory in Chittagong city.
On Friday (December 25), the procession started from the AJ Chowdhury College ground of the upazila and ended at Moizzartek intersection.
BNP and grassroots activists of five unions of the upazila joined the long procession. A short rally was held at the AJ Chowdhury College grounds before the procession started. Upazila BNP member secretary Mohammad Osman spoke at the meeting conducted by upazila BNP convener SM Mamun Mia.
He said, a circle has become active to smear the image of BNP leaders. I have been in the field of politics for the last 40 years carrying the ideals of Shahid Zia. I am totally a political person. My post was suspended for conspiratorially false allegations. But my party vice-chairman, senior leaders investigated and found that the allegation is not true. Later on the order of acting chairman of the party Tariq Rahman, the ban imposed on me was withdrawn. It has been proved again that no conspiracy can stop BNP’s progress.
Addressing the party workers, he said, “You protested when I was kept out of the political arena on false charges.” was by my side I cannot repay your debt for anything. For the last 15 years, I have been involved in politics through litigation and torture. I fought against the fascist Hasina. We will cross the road ahead together, we will build this country together.

It is to be noted that last August, the video of several luxury cars leaving the factory of Mir Pulp and Paper Industries Limited in Chittagong in Kalurghat area of Chittagong city was spread on social media. It is alleged that Abu Sufian, Enamul Haque and SM Mamun Mia are involved in this incident. Later BNP high command suspended all the posts with a letter showing their reasons. Later on last Wednesday, BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the withdrawal of the suspension imposed on them through three separate circulars.
