Kaspersky was deleted from some users without consent and replaced by UltraAV

The US Department of Commerce has banned Russia’s Kaspersky antivirus. It is automatically removed from computers without the consent of users not only in the USA.

Kaspersky will soon have to leave the computers of American not only government users for good. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) warned companies years ago not to use Kaspersky software due to concerns about government espionage – it is no secret that Kaspersky is a Russian company, but with branches all over the world, including Great Britain or Japan. There are reportedly over 1.5 million users of this in the Czech Republic alone anti-virus.

However, people outside of the United States have noticed some absolutely shocking activity on their PCs in recent days. Kaspersky disappeared without their consent and was replaced again without consent by the UltraAV anti-virus. He also advised them to uninstall the anti-virus and then restart their PC. Below is the official statement.

Antivirus customers have received a software update to facilitate the transition to UltraAV.

Following the recent decision by the US Department of Commerce that prohibits Kaspersky from selling or updating certain antivirus products in the United States, Kaspersky has partnered with antivirus provider UltraAV to ensure continued protection for US customers who will no longer have access to Kaspersky protection.

Kaspersky and UltraAV have worked closely together to ensure that customers meet the security and privacy standards users expect from their services.

On the official notification however, people outside the US responded immediately. For example, the very first response is from Australia: Yes, I received a notification from Kaspersky 2 weeks ago, but I ignored it because it was supposed to only apply to US users. Can you tell me why your “targeted” software replacement is going across the Pacific to Australia…???

It seems that Kaspersky is indeed deleted automatically from PC users, despite the fact that they do not agree to the update and do not perform it. An additional question is, why also to people outside the US?
