Kia is preparing the second generation of the Seltos crossover. The car was photographed

Channel Healer TVwho spotted a prototype of the new Seltos in a parking lot, described the car as a “little Telluride.” This means that the crossover will receive larger headlights, the size of which is impressive even through the camouflage, and vertically oriented lights. Also, a photo of a functional prototype was published by the Shorts car resource.

With electric cars stagnating, Kia is keen to release as many hybrids as possible, which are gaining popularity, so the new Seltos will undergo electrification. And the hybrid will also become an alternative to the diesel modification, the demand for which has recently been almost zero.

It is assumed that the Kia Seltos will receive the same hybrid transmission as the Kia Niro and Hyundai Kona: with a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engine and an electric motor, output – 141 hp. and 265 Nm. The possibility of recharging from external sources is not provided, and the drive is only front-wheel drive.

Kia is also working on an electronic full-time all-wheel drive (E-AWD) system for the Seltos hybrid. The main target of such machines is the European market.

The release of the new Kia Seltos is scheduled for August next year, the crossover will be produced at the Kia Autoland plant in Gwangju.
