Today, Kia presented the renewed Sportage, first in South Korea and then other markets, including Europe.
According to announcements, the renewed Sportage brings fresh style features and new technology in the cabin, three years after the launch of the current, fifth generation.
Kia particularly highlights the revised light signature, putting it on par with the latest styling of the company’s design language.
This means that the front part got a new look, thanks to a new pair of sharper, vertical headlights and a modified mask. The profile is largely unchanged, while the rear is characterized by revised LED graphics.
As the announcement says, the renewed Sportage combines a high-tech design language with a bold and futuristic look. It now features Kia’s signature Starmap lighting at the front, creating a striking and cohesive look that adds a sense of grandeur. A new black grille, paired with a wide intake and vertical elements on the bumper, completes the strong front design.
The interior design adopts the brand’s new design language, with two screens of 12.3 inches each, new materials and improved sound insulation.
Kia has equipped the Sportage with advanced safety features to enhance the driving experience. Among other things, there is a Head-Up Display (HUD) that minimizes the need to take your eyes off the road, Highway Assist with Lane Change Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, which includes intersection, side and steering assist functions, as well as the vehicle’s infotainment system, ccNC, which enables wireless software updates, providing the latest connectivity options.
Also, Kia’s X-Line trim offers unique design details such as a more robust bumper, exclusive grille and emblems, 19-inch wheels and premium interior details.
Eight exterior color options, including new Wolf Gray and Heritage Blue, allow customers to customize the look of their Sportage, while three interior colors are available, including the new Lounge Brown.
For now, the long-wheelbase version sold in markets such as South Korea, North America and Australia is shown, but the same changes will also be made to the shorter-wheelbase model offered in Europe.
In South Korea, the Sportage range includes a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine (with an 8-speed automatic transmission), a 2.0-liter LPi engine, and a hybrid variant with a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine.
