DAPURPACUID – Toyota’s product line has succeeded in captivating visitors to GIIAS 2024, with an order number (SPK) of 6,202 units, dominated by the MPV segment.
Kijang Innova became the most favorite model, recording 1,968 SPK units, of which the Innova Zenix HEV contributed 75 percent compared to the gasoline version of 1,305 units.
With the achievements made by the electrified model (xEV), Toyota’s flagship passenger vehicle has become the locomotive of the xEV lineup with a total of 1,724 units.
This figure has increased by 37 percent compared to the total xEV SPK last year, and is also the largest contributor to SPK during GIIAS 2024, namely 31 percent.
Vice President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor, Henry Tanoto, appreciated the trust of GIIAS 2024 visitors who still make Toyota products their main choice for mobility, including various electrification models.
“Hopefully this positive sales record can strengthen Toyota’s sales and contribute greatly to increasing the national automotive market in Semester 2 of this year,” he added.
In detail, the total SPK achieved by the electrification vehicle line including Toyota’s Hybrid EV recorded 1,724 units, or 27% of Toyota’s total SPK acquisition. This composition increased 5% from the same event last year.
After Innova Zenix HEV, another xEV model is All New Yaris Cross HEV with 240 units. The composition of SPK for both reached more than 75% of the total sales of All New Kijang Innova Zenix and All New Yaris Cross during the 11-day exhibition.
Followed by Alphard HEV with SPK of 121 units along with its twin All New Vellfire HEV 25 units, and New Corolla Cross HEV of 23 units.
Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor, Anton Jimmi Suwandy explained that currently hybrid technology is still a very relevant mobility solution option and is suitable for use throughout Indonesia.
Therefore, Anton continued, Toyota HEV can dominate sales at GIIAS 2024, considering that customers can play a role in reducing emissions without having to bother changing their mobility habits.
“Thanks to the increasingly comprehensive options, we expect the Toyota xEV vehicle market including Hybrid EVs to continue to grow to provide more ways to achieve carbon neutrality,” concluded Anton.
Meanwhile, other Toyota models that contributed to Toyota’s positive achievements throughout GIIAS 2024 include the two low MPVs Avanza and Veloz, with sales of 1,395 units.
In addition to positive sales, GIIAS 2024 again awarded the Toyota booth as Favorite Booth Passenger for 2 consecutive years with an area of more than 2,500 m2.
