Kim Yo-jong, the North Korean leader’s influential younger sister, rejected the UN secretary-general’s criticism of Pyongyang’s missile tests on Saturday, stressing that North Korea will never give up its nuclear weapons development.

In response, Kim Yo-jong called the UN Secretary-General unfair and prejudiced and claimed that the missile tests were for self-defense purposes. According to a report by the North Korean news agency KCNA, he also added that the policy of international sanctions and pressure against Pyongyang only strengthened the country.
