DFB captain Joshua Kimmich passed former national coach Berti Vogts (96 international matches) in the all-time German international list with his 97th appearance. The 29-year-old was in the starting line-up in the 1-1 (0-0) draw in Budapest against Hungary on matchday 6 of the Nations League and is now 18th in the ranking.
After the resignations of Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer and Toni Kroos, Kimmich has the most appearances among the current national players. Lothar Matthäus still leads the list unchallenged with 150 games ahead of Miroslav Klose (137).
