Kincl lost the championship belt in the historic Octagon tournament

Frankfurt am Main – Elite Czech MMA fighter Patrik Kincl lost his championship belt at the historic tournament of the Oktagon organization. Before the record visit to the football stadium of Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt am Main, he lost to Kerim Engizek from Turkey and lost the post of king of the middleweight category up to 84 kg.

The 35-year-old Kincl was the favorite in the match, but Engizek, who lives in Germany, reigned from the first round of the duel. In the first three rounds, he managed to keep the fight in a stance and dominated them mainly thanks to accurate and hard kicks. Only in the fourth round was the reigning champion able to take the fight to the ground, but Kincl was unable to significantly threaten his opponent. The final 5th round again belonged to Engizek, who claimed his fourteenth win in a row. He last lost in 2014.

More than 59,000 fans watched the Oktagon 62 gala at the stadium, which this year also hosted Euro football matches, according to the co-owner of the Czech-Slovak organization Pavol Neruda. Even before the event, it was certain that the record of the Polish KSW, which brought 57,776 MMA fans to the National Football Stadium in Warsaw in 2017, would be broken.
