King opens DPG Media office Mediavaert in Amsterdam

His Majesty the King will open Mediavaert, the Dutch headquarters of DPG Media in Amsterdam, on Thursday morning, October 10. Mediavaert houses 25 media brands such as de Volkskrant, Trouw and Het Parool, news platform NU.nl, Libelle and Donald Duck, the studios of Qmusic and Joe and online brands such as vtwonen and Tweakers.

During the opening of the building, the theme ‘the democratic value of independent and pluralistic journalism’ will be central.

The drive and conviction with which the journalists at DPG Media do their work and its importance served as inspiration for the design of the new home for some 1,700 employees.

During a tour of Mediavaert, the King will visit various editorial offices and make a short excursion to the editorial offices of the magazines. At Donald Duck, he will see the Donald Duck illustrators at work. Finally, the King will visit the printing house where hundreds of thousands of newspapers are printed every night.
