Joseph Biden’s decision not to talk to Vladimir Putin is the biggest mistake of the current US president, said the special envoy for Ukraine in the administration of the newly elected US President Donald Trump, Keith Kellogg.
– I have in mind that he has not spoken to him for more than two years. The president talks to both opponents and allies, and he knows it’s not easy, but he actually understands that it’s necessary to talk to people in order to achieve the final result, and that’s exactly what he plans to do – said Kellogg in an interview for ” Fox News”.
Kellogg expressed confidence that the new administration will manage to create conditions under which Trump will be able to talk to Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
– Trump does not intend to make concessions to Putin or the Russians regarding the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict, his task is to save Ukraine and preserve its sovereignty – he stated.
Kellogg added that Trump wants to end the conflict in Ukraine “as soon as possible” under just and fair terms.
– I believe that he could do it in the near future. I really believe that he is capable of reaching the point where this war really ends – he pointed out.
Kellogg emphasized that ending the conflict in Ukraine is important for the national security of the US, Europe and the whole world. Let’s recall that during the election campaign, Trump made solving the Ukrainian crisis one of his priorities.
