Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said that they built 3 interchanges, 1 viaduct, 3 bridges, 18 underpasses and 57 culverts in the 2nd Section of Konya Ring Road, which they opened to traffic today, and that they planted 44 thousand saplings to protect nature.

At the opening of the 2nd Section of the Konya Ring Road in the Karaömerler location of the Konya-Ankara highway, attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Uraloğlu stated that the ring road will strengthen the strength of Konya’s urban and intercity transportation infrastructure.

Emphasizing that Konya, located on the Silk Road route, has been one of the important settlements of Anatolia throughout history, Minister Uraloğlu said, “Today, it is a city extending in the east-west and north-south directions, which provides the main transportation of our country. highway It is an important junction point with its connections.” he said.

KONYA RING ROAD IS 122 KILOMETERS LONG

Uraloğlu, Konya Ring RoadHe stated that they designed the project with a total length of 122 kilometers and reminded that they completed the work of the first part of 22 kilometers and opened it to traffic in 2020. “2. 44 THOUSAND SEEDLINGS WERE PLANT IN A 30 KILOMETER SECTION

Stating that the 30-kilometer section between the Afyonkarahisar-Aksaray axis was completed and put into service during the construction works carried out on the 2nd part of the ring road, Uraloğlu said, “In the section that will be opened to traffic, 3 interchanges, 1 viaduct, 3 bridges, 18 underpasses, 57 culverts were built and 44 thousand saplings were planted. Work continues on the 16 kilometers between Aksaray-Adana axis.” He made a statement.

CITY TRAFFIC WILL BREATHE

With the project; Explaining that the transit traffic load of Konya, which is at an important transition point between regions, has been transferred to the ring road, Uraloğlu said, “Today, the traffic on the old ring road within the city of Konya will be given a breather. Konya’s fast and safe traffic flow to important tourism and trade centers transport “The standard will be increased and social and economic development will be contributed.” he said.

TOTAL ANNUAL SAVINGS OF 6 BILLION LIRA

Stating that the transportation provided by covering 40 kilometers on the existing road between the Afyonkarahisar axis and Aksaray axis has been shortened by 10 kilometers with the section of the ring road that will be opened to traffic, Uraloğlu made the following statements in his statement:

“Travel time has been reduced from 49 minutes to 17 minutes. Thus, a total of 6 billion liras will be saved annually, 4.6 billion from time and 1.4 billion from fuel, and carbon emissions will be reduced by 81 thousand 400 tons.”
