Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation’s ‘Card-type Gold’ can also be purchased at convenience stores

MINT products, including the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation’s card-type gold, can now be purchased at convenience stores.

The Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation announced on the 17th that it signed a business agreement with BG Retail regarding distribution infrastructure expansion and ICT services.

According to the agreement, the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation will expand sales of MINT products such as card-type gold and pendant medals by utilizing BGF Retail’s online and offline infrastructure, and promote the expansion of new services to enhance customer convenience by incorporating ICT forgery prevention technology such as identity verification and digital payment.

BGF Retail is engaged in chain businesses such as logistics, POS systems, and service products, with convenience store (CU) business as its main business.

The Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation released 10 types of card-type gold coins in April through convenience stores nationwide and the Pocket CU app. Since last month, the 10 types of card-type gold coins and pendant medals have been released in the second round. After the release, the 1g gold coins were so popular that they sold out in just two days.

Sung Chang-hoon, president of Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation, said, “You can now purchase credible card-type gold products at convenience stores,” adding, “In addition, Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation will contribute to customer convenience by discovering new services that utilize identity verification and anti-counterfeiting technology.”
