South Korea and the United States planned to hold the Nuclear Consultative Group (NCG) meeting and the first NCG road exercise (TTX) on the 4th and 5th. However, it was postponed due to the martial law situation on December 3.
This meeting is expected to be the last NCG under the U.S. Joe Biden administration.
Previously, South Korea and the United States decided to establish an integrated extended deterrence system by establishing a new ROK-US NCG through the Washington Declaration adopted by the leaders of the two countries last year. Afterwards, joint guidelines were prepared after three NCG meetings.
However, it is unclear whether NCG will operate normally even after the Donald Trump administration takes office next month.
